You've done it ..

You cited Reeve's suggested focus - What is the most important challenge and What have you learned?

It sounds like both have been your focus over the past several weeks. You've posed some interesting and thought-provoking questions regarding the Charter renewal process. It is hard to believe that it comes down to the scores on the ELA .... yet it did for ACCS. Congrats on holding the school together during this process and have them stay focused on the essentials. You have certainly learned quite a bit during this process and also learned what are the options for the school for the future.

Great job of leadership these past few weeks!

Contract For Excellence

This week Governor Spitzer outlined his "Contract for Excellence," placing a priority on his education agenda. While his comments generally were focused on the public schools, I began wondering what a "Contract for Excellence" would be for our Catholic schools. Putting the funding issues aside, how would we respond to his challenges? More and more the parents who choose Catholic schools have other choices. How do we view accountabilty, particularly performance and programmatic, within our schools? I would love to hear your thoughts!
